From August 7th to August 25th, the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) at the University of Campinas (Unicamp) welcomed Manoella Saad Barbosa, a fourth-year medical student from the Medical University of Sorbonne, Paris, France.

Complementing her clinical year, during three weeks, Manoella carried out an internship at the Clinical Hospital (CH) of Unicamp. During her stay, the student had the opportunity to rotate in three different specialties: Orthopedics, Trauma surgery and Plastic surgery. She also had the chance to participate in the daily activities of the local interns and residents. These activities included attending lectures, participating in morning rounds, assisting outpatient treatment, observing operations and participating in emergency simulations.

“It was a short stay, but I am forever grateful for everything that I lived there! I met wonderful people, many places, and I was enchanted by every little moment I experienced. I got the opportunity to know the campus of Campinas, which has a huge structure and cutting-edge equipment in research. This experience was unique and unforgettable! I am also very thankful for having been able to train with the swimming team and wanted to thank everyone for their kindness, as well as for welcoming me with open heart! Having the opportunity to meet so many people, making lifelong friendships and memories, being in an excellent university, traveling to many incredible places, all of this was amazing. Anyway, an infinity of situations and unique moments! During my stay, I especially learned to value everything we have and the efforts we make to make our dreams come true. With work, dedication, patience and faith, everything becomes possible!”, said Manoella.
