Maarten Moreels, a medical student from KULeuven Medicine, Belgium, recently completed an internship at the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) of Unicamp. The internship, which lasted from May 6 to August 4, focused on Gynecology and Pediatrics. Below is his testimonial:

“During my three months in Brazil, I had the most incredible experience at the University of Campinas. I completed internships in Pediatrics and Gynecology at Caism and the Hospital de Clínicas at Unicamp. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by amazing professors, doctors, and friends. The warmth and support I received from everyone made my stay unforgettable.

A special shoutout to the Natrankeira swimming team and the Athletic Association (AAAAL) for embracing me as one of their own, allowing me to stay active and create even more incredible memories.

The university and hospitals were so well-organized and of such high quality. But what really stood out to me was the kindness and positivity of the people — that’s what truly makes this place special”.

Maarten also expressed his gratitude to everyone for including him, showing such kindness, and making his time in Brazil truly memorable.
